For my Final Project in ECET464, I remade the game Yahtzee! in LabVIEW. In the middle of the semester, we made a PONG game in LabVIEW and I had so much fun debugging and testing while completing the project that I wanted to recreate another popular game. I chose Yahtzee! because I grew up playing the game with my family and we still love playing when we get together. I originally decided that I wanted to recreate Yahtzee! when I saw how picture rings could be implemented into the front panel of LabView. I have seen videos of picture rings rotating through .png files when you add a wait function and thought that it might look like dice rolling. By adding pictures of each side of a die, adding a wait function, and adding a random number generator the picture rings rotate through each side of the die in a realistic rolling animation.
