“I just finished the most amazing story” ~Belle.

I am a recent December graduate of Western Carolina University and starting a new adventure at Walt Disney World as a cast member starting in January 2020. At WCU, I studied communication where I gained effective skills that are transferable and will play a key role while working at Disney. The communication skills that I gained are public speaking, professional writing, active-listening, and being present in conversations.

Thanks to WCU I was able to go to Walt Disney World in fall of 2018 where I participated in a leadership program. During this program, students were divided into smaller groups to learn about how Disney operates and what leadership means to them. This experience explained how magical Disney truly is and allowed my passion to grow for the company.

While working at Disney I am looking forward to participating in VoluntEARS, a community service program. VoluntEARS  is important to me because I grew up doing community service work with Girl Scouts or through my church. Once I came to WCU, I discovered ways to stay involved such as joining organizations such as Resident Student Association and Alpha Gamma Delta where I could give back. Being able to continue giving back to the communities where I am placed is important and with Disney having a program for its cast members to do this carries magic in more than just the parks.
