This design is for a hub to fit over the spindle of a stepper motor with a D shaft. 2 screw holes were designed in the sides of the hub that allow for screws to be inserted against the stepper motor shaft to hold the hub in place. This design was first printed slightly too small for the stepper motor shaft and was the diameter was increased by 0.2 mm on the second print which fit perfectly.

Next I designed a 90 mm diameter wheel around the finished hub product. This wheel was made 10 mm thick so that a rubber band could be fitted around the outside to provide traction when the stepper motor is turning the wheel. The wheel is based around a simple 6 spoke design that is strong enough to hold the weight of a small robot that will sit above the wheel. All edges of the design were given either a 2 or 5 mm fillet to give a higher quality look as well as to increase strength and rigidity.
