My name is Nicholas Pagan, I am from Gastonia N.C. This city is known for its high crime rate and lack of social mobility. However, whenever I am faced with a problem I will find a solution. When faced with trials and tribulations I adapt and overcome the obstacles in my way, and in my definition is the essence of an engineer. I grew up with an interest in computer and technology participating in the robotics program for a total of 4 years. Although my high school didn’t offer many stem courses I became certified in Photoshop. I am now attending Western Carolina University to continue my pursuit of knowledge, I am specializing in Computer and Electrical Engineering. I want to have a positive impact on the people and the planet around me, as well as I’ve always had the desire to do something in the engineering field. In hopes of being the first engineer within my family as well as being the first person within my family to graduate college. Currently, I am a machinist apprentice at Burnett Machine CO., INC and I have been dutifully producing parts and assisting with machine repair for the last year. Thank you for your time and consideration.
