My name is Sydni Hall and I am a Communication major at Western Carolina University, with double concentrations in public relations and journalism.
I have lived in Lenoir, NC located in the valley below the Appalachian mountains my entire life. After graduating with an Associates of Science and Arts from Caldwell Early College High School, I moved to Cullowhee, NC to obtain my Bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University.
My career goals include working for a non-profit organization. I have a passion for ministry work, non-profit organizations, and any sort of community engagement opportunities. My goal in this career field would be to help these organizations flourish. I would help them build their brands by designing influential social media platforms and creating awareness for the organization and their cause.
I have built my communication skill set by being involved in different academic organizations during my time at WCU. I am heavily involved in the WCU chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. I was elected president of our chapter in February 2019. As president, I developed many strong leadership skills, I planned group outings across the region for our members, I also increased the professional network of our members and myself.
I also worked as a Residential Assistant at WCU during the 2019-2020 school year. As an RA, I learned many valuable skills and life lessons that have made me the best version of myself. I developed confident decision-making skills, how to handle stressful situations, as well as how to be a strong, yet compassionate leader.
I consider my three strongest traits to be my driven work ethic, my strong leadership qualities and ability to work with a team, and my enthusiasm for any task that is given to me!
