For this project, I was tasked with automating a servo motor to open when an object was within two feet of the ultrasonic sensor and close when that object was no longer present, much like an automatic door. A servo motor normally operates between 0 and 180 degrees, when modified, the servo can spin a full 360 degrees. An ultrasonic sensor functions similarly to echolocation. The sensor sends out high frequency noises, too high to be heard by humans, and detects the noise as it bounces back to the sensor. The sensor then calculates the distance that the ultrasonic noise traveled.
